RC1 for WordPress 2.7 has been released. We have, of course upgraded to it and…so far, so good.

The only complaint I have (so far) is that they should have included the ‘Wordpress Automatic Upgrade’ plugin in the core instead of whatever they are using - which seems to do the upgrade, but always hangs on me. (It also hangs when I upgrade plugins with it.) The plugin also first backs up both the database and the files that are to be changed. The core update requires you to do a backup by hand first.

Everything seems to be working fine at the moment. We are still testing various plugins and most seem to work fine with 2.7. Same applies to themes, although the old ones don’t do threaded comments.
